flydubai Announces Doubling of Daily Flights to Milan Bergamo Starting July 2026

    July 30, 2026

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight capacity to Italy to meet rising international travel demand. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is strengthening its presence in Italy by adding more flight frequencies across key commercial hubs. Beginning July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights linking Dubai with Milan-Bergamo. Additionally, it will maintain its daily round-trip services to Naples, boosting its commercial footprint in Italy.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This expanded schedule improves flydubai’s overall operational reach within Italy. It currently includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, operating twice weekly through August’s end. The airline also announced operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport. Normal flights to Naples are expected to resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Agreement Enhances Passenger Connectivity Via Dubai

The new routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples continue to operate under the established codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This cooperation enables passengers to benefit from integrated travel options, single-ticket purchases, synchronized schedules, and through-checked baggage handling across both networks. Connecting through Dubai’s central hub, travelers from Italian airports gain easier access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. They can reach locations such as Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar directly.

This capacity expansion aligns with broader trends in regional aviation, where international passenger numbers have steadily increased post-pandemic. The rise in flight frequencies supports growing trade, investment, and tourism flows between the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The addition of double daily flights to Milan-Bergamo allows more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s financial and industrial hub. Daily flights to Southern Italy also meet the rising seasonal demand from international tourists visiting iconic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Commenting on the network growth, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, noted that Naples and Milan are now vital gateways within the airline’s European routes. He emphasized that maintaining consistent regional access remains a priority while also committing to expanding connectivity to underserved markets. Al Ghaith pointed out that the latest market data confirms that flydubai is enhancing its Italy operations with strategic frequency increases to accommodate the rising flow of passengers between the UAE and Italy. This is especially important as travel demand accelerates heading into the winter season.

Major Airport Hubs Offer Direct Access for Travelers

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, underlined that expanding direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo highlights the importance of the Italian market for the airline. He explained that providing non-stop connections allows international travelers to leverage the combined network of flydubai and Emirates to reach global destinations seamlessly through Dubai. The airline’s leadership confirmed that their fleet and operational teams are ready to support the increased number of flights, ensuring reliable service for both passengers and cargo.

These operational upgrades reflect flydubai’s ongoing strategy of fleet expansion and international network development. As the airline continues to introduce modern narrow-body aircraft, it aims to further increase frequencies on high-demand European routes. The reinforced Italian flight schedule cements Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, enabling smooth passenger and freight movement between Europe and expanding destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
